PMI-ACP® Certificate Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the PMI-ACP® certification, candidates must meet the following educational and professional experience requirements.

Educational Background

General Project Experience

Agile Project Experience

Training in Agile Practices

Secondary degree (high school diploma, associate’s degree or global equivalent)

2,000 hours (12 months) working on project teams must have been earned in the last 5 years. PMP® or PgMP® credential holders already meet this criteria and do not need to earn additional hours.

1,500 hours (8 months) working on project teams using agile methodologies. This experience must have been earned in the last 3 years. These hours are in addition to the 2,000 hours required in general project experience.

21 contact hours must have been earned in agile practices.

Are you thinking about obtaining your PMI-ACP® Certification? If so, don’t study for the exam alone! Join your chapter members and benefit from studying with friends.

In addition to your study partners, participation in the study group also provides you with access to Mentors from chapter members who have already passed the exam. Plus we can share you with information from other study groups. Take advantage of learning from multiple sources including experienced professionals.

The study group is designed to help you understand the focus of the PMI Agile Certified Professional exam. Key elements of the exam are presented each week and discussed in the classroom. Practice quizzes and exams will be given and reviewed during the Study Group Meetings.

Prerequisites:

  • PMI Global membership
  • PMI Central Virginia Chapter Membership
  • Participation or completion of a virtual or in-person PMI-ACP courses (21 hours of training) to be specified during registration.
  • Participants will be prepared to speak each session. Video on is not required, but is encouraged.
  • Participants will have read the applicable  chapter(s) in the assigned reading material
  • Participants will bring questions each session: areas for conversation, practice test questions that they are struggling with, questions about the content that they need clarification about, or general questions about the PMI-ACP exam process
  • Note: participation in a PMI-ACP study group does not count toward your 21 hours of education hours.
