IT4Causes: Volunteer Opportunity Hopewell, Virginia
IT4Causes a local nonprofit IT consulting company in Richmond, VA is looking for volunteers in IT and/or PM field with Windows 10 & Microsoft Office power user experience to help facilitate a basic computer training for private childcare providers on Saturday, October 9th from 9AM to 12:30PM at Appomattox Regional Library System located at 209 E Cawson St, Hopewell, VA 23860. Training will be conducted on-site with CDC prescribed guidelines on wearing masks and socially distancing regardless of vaccination status.
This training will be provided in partnership with Smart Beginnings Southeast, a nonprofit organization that leads families and community partners in maximizing resources to assure that all children, 0-5, are prepared emotionally, cognitively, socially, and physically for school. Smart Beginnings will be providing free PC laptops to those childcare providers pre-loaded with basic productivity software that requires the following training to be conducted by IT4Causes staff and volunteers:
- Using basic functionality of Windows 10 OS
- Browsing Internet using Microsoft Edge/Google Chrome
- Filling out and printing forms in Adobe Acrobat/Google Forms
- Using basic functionality of Microsoft Office 365 applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive

This event qualifies you for 3 volunteer PDU hours (self reported).
Both photography and videography will likely be taken on site or virtually to document PMICVC events and activities. Photographs and video footage are the sole property of the PMICVC.
