Carl Pritchard, PMI-RMP, PMP

Bio: Carl Pritchard is the self-proclaimed "fun guy" of project risk management. He's a past author of the risk chapter of the Guide to the PMBOK (4th Ed.), and was selected by PMI Global as the "Best of the Best" in project management (Eric Jenett Award winner). He has been teaching project management for over 25 years and is a principal of Pritchard Management Associates, a consulting and training firm. He has written seven project management texts, and has traveled the globe for clients, for PMI SeminarsWorld and coaching project managers to be their absolute best.

Seminar Description: It's been an amazing year with lockdowns, masks and extreme isolation. In the throes of wrestling the challenges of Covid to the ground, we've all learned to make everything from the complex to the simple virtual. Virtual meetings. Virtual communications. Virtual reporting.

The same environment that brought you virtual everything else is also creating a large subset of modified virtual risks and risk practice. Carl Pritchard, author of "Risk Management: Concepts & Guidance" 5th ed., takes a virtual turn at the wheel to discuss the modified thinking processes that go with risk management in a virtually-driven culture.

Key Learning Objectives: Participants will be able to:

  • Better identify risks in their environment, despite the lack of face-to-frace
  • Set tolerances with meaning (and enforce them)
  • Leverage Agile practices and look at risk from an impact-emphatic perspective
