Podcasting as a Business Project: What PMs Can Learn About Value Creation, Influence, and the Human Side of Strategy
Podcasting as a Business Project: What PMs Can Learn About Value Creation, Influence, and the Human Side of Strategy

SESSION ABSTRACT
Podcasting is often viewed as a creative outlet, but behind every successful podcast is a thoughtfully run business project, one grounded in clarity, influence, and value creation.
In this session, I draw from my experience building and scaling a global podcast platform to show how podcasting mirrors the realities of modern project work. Without formal authority, guaranteed buy-in, or large budgets, podcasters must align stakeholders, define value early, manage uncertainty, and use technology intentionally to create meaningful outcomes.
This session offers project managers a fresh, human-centered lens on business acumen, demonstrating how conversations, trust, and alignment drive project success just as much as timelines and tools.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
Attendees will learn how to:
1. Frame projects as value-driven business initiatives by clearly defining outcomes, stakeholder expectations, and success measures.
3. Use technology intentionally as an enabler of strategy and value, rather than relying on tools alone to drive results.
PRE-SESSION NETWORKING ACTIVITY
Prior to the presentation, attendees will participate in a brief networking activity designed to warm up the room and ground the session in their own experiences.
Participants will pair up and discuss:
• A project that looked successful on paper but felt misaligned in practice
• Who defined “success” for that project and when
• Where people, communication, or alignment had the greatest impact on the outcome
Unlimited Engaging talk with visual slides, stories, and live Q&A
