Speaker: Bart Shoaf
Topic: Ukrop’s Lean Journey and Project Alignment
Brief Description: Bart Shoaf will cover the history of a Richmond icon, Ukrops, their challenges through the years, their Lean journey and current style of project alignment.
Speaker Bio: Bart has been with Ukrop’s for 25 years – always working on the manufacturing side -- filling various roles including managing kitchen inbound inventory and working with compliance and quality assurance in both plants. He has spent many years helping Ukrop’s establish a Lean culture – teaching tools used by other manufacturers to leaders and front-line associates, visiting many manufacturing plants in Virginia, and networking with Continuous Improvement professionals.
As a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, he continues to apply those Lean tools to find waste, minimize defects and generate solutions in both the manufacturing and the business processes at Ukrop’s. Bart Shoaf is the Continuous Improvement Leader for Ukrop’s Homestyle Foods. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia, and he and his wife, Karen, have three children and three grandchildren.
