*In-Person Event*- Building and Bridging Resources
April’s Presentation: "Building and Bridging Resources” explores lessons learned from a non-profit’s 10 year journey from personal crisis, to a vital grass roots organization producing expanded awareness of a life changing issue and an annual successful and growing 5K event.
Presentation Info: Each year’s program requires scope and stakeholder management, constraints, requirements, and risks. The problem statement is how to make more people aware of the most treatable cancer and support people with the help they need during a difficult time. Mindy Conklin has a passion and energy that translates to not only an outstanding learning opportunity of what’s involved in managing this important Richmond based non-profit, but is bold enough to reach people with a life-saving message.
Hitting Cancer Below the Belt (HCB2) is a colon health, colorectal cancer prevention NFP organization which serves the Commonwealth of Virginia and is currently honoring its 10th year of service. As a grass-roots charitable organization, HCB2 relies on grants and fundraising events to help support their work. However, many grass-roots NFPs lack the necessary capacity to comfortably offer events which yield a high net income. With a limited budget, what strategies work? What are the basic requirements for a successful event? What defines success? What risks are taken? These are the questions that will be addressed at the "Building and Bridging Resources with HCB2" presentation. We hope you join the conversation.
