For those of you who are unable to join us inperson, we will be streaming the presentation via Zoom. The cost of the event does include dinner so if you will be attending virtually please use the promo code virtual at checkout and the event will only be $10.

We will also have the amazing Kristin Beale presenting her story.

Kristin+Gupta-2.jpg Kristin Beale is a native of Richmond, Virginia. She is the author of two books, Greater Things and A Million Suns, and a comic book, Date Me. She publishes a weekly comic strip on Instagram, and episode 1 of a tv show based on her book, Date Me, is posted on Youtube. Kristin lives with her dog, Achilles, and her husband, Christopher. She finished her 14th marathon this year, and she’s getting ready for a national competition of wheelchair fencing.

When Kristin Beale was 14 years old, she was in a Jet Ski accident that killed the driver of her ski, left her paralyzed, and flipped her world upside down. Doctors not only told her she wouldn’t breathe independently, swallow, or speak again, they told her she wouldn’t be able to move or feel below her mid-torso. Three months later, she was discharged from the hospital with all but the last prediction disproved; she was determined to walk, play sports, and feel sensations from the bottoms of her feet.
I invite you to Kristin’s story of overcoming adversity, making the best of a [seemingly] hopeless situation, and not taking “never” too seriously.
