December 2019 From The Desk of Our President

My Fellow PMI Central Virginia Chapter Members,

As we close 2019, I wanted to take a moment to highlight our achievements as a chapter.  One of my goals for the year was to attract additional volunteers to help our chapter in reaching its goals.

  • In January, we celebrated our Volunteer Recognition event at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA), honoring 83 volunteers for their efforts in helping and supporting our chapter. The event was phenomenal, and everyone that attended felt very special and expressed interest in hosting the event there again. Suresh Raju was recognized as our 2019 Volunteer of the Year.
  • In February, Our Board members attended the Regional Leadership meeting. We held a raffle for a volunteer to attend and were able to have an additional volunteer member participate in this event.
  • This year we implemented an ‘Exceptional Volunteer of the Quarter”. Here are the individuals that were recognized this year:
    • Leslie DeBruyn, PMP (1st quarter)
    • Jennifer Romero-Greene (2nd quarter)
    • David Maynard (3rd quarter)
  • Our 4th quarter volunteer will be recognized at our Volunteer Recognition event in January 2020, in addition to our 2020 Volunteer of the Year.

And when we do this collectively, we have a huge positive impact across the globe."
